Bio |
Between March 2001 and December 2002,
until the station's change of format, Andre has been the resident
DJ and producer of his own mix-show 'Clubland
Underground' on ENERGY 92.7&5 FM in Chicago. The weekly
four hours have been solely dedicated to global progressive
dance music featuring prog, tech, and tribal house, breaks,
and techno. Between October 2002 and May of 2004 he hosted a
2 hour show called 'Fuel' every Saturday
night on XM
Satellite Radio / Channel 82 - The System, a U.S. nationwide
radio network. As of May 2004, the show switches to Channel
80 'The Move' where Andre finds himself among
a group of like-minded and very talented DJs that include Satoshi
Tomiee, Hybrid, Danny Howells or D:Fuse. Moreover. the new channel
is all about House and other forms of underground dance music.
As
of September of 2004 Andre entered into the other half of the
U.S. Satellite Radio spectrum. Now covering both networks, Solaris'
progressive sounds infiltrate the United States coast-to-coast.
"Acclaimed Chicago DJ Andre Solaris leaves the ordinary
behind with Departures. Mixing
beats from tribal house to breaks and progressive house, this
electronic dance mixshow takes off to points unknown every Saturday
Night. It's all custom designed for SIRIUS
Remix62 and departing from gate 62!".
After a few-month run, the show had to end in order to stay
with XM Radio.
In March of 2003 Andre Solaris re-entered
Chicago's airwaves as he is recruited as the new Mixmaster of
the 'B96 Street Mix'. Solaris has provided the show with a bit
of a a change in programming and was in charge of his own segment
called 'The Sound of the Global Underground'.
After 7 weeks on the air, Andre Solaris was ranked #1 among
the mix-show DJs on the station's web based polling system and
shortly after that his talents have been locked on by another
mix-show's host.
In May of 2003, Joey Swanson, the host of the city's most respected
mix-show, 'Sonic Boom', has invited Andre
to become a resident . The station, Q101 FM, plays Alternative
Rock during the week. The show has been running for close to
five years showcasing the city's top underground dj's with music
styles ranging from House, Techno, and Drum 'n Bass to Prog,
Tribal, and Breaks. The family of very talented and well known
artists includes : Lego, Justin Long, Nosmo, Green Velvet, D:Fuse,
Little Louie Vega, and DJ Rap. The shows airs every Saturday
10pm-4am CST with Andre's set at 12:30am on Saturdays. In August
of '03 Andre begins his new radio residency in his native Poland.
Radio
ABC 98.4 FM - Szczecin will be hosting a weekly Saturday
night show (8pm-9pm) called 'Future Sound
of Chicago' with Andre's choice cuts in the mix. In May
of 2005, Sonic Boom has been taken off the station as a whole.
The only quality underground dance music show had given way
to even more Alternative Rock programming. America's FM continues
to degrade with its watered-down musical selections. In the
fall of the same year, 98.4 FM in Szczecin-Poland had been sold
to a commercial media giant and its airways became plugged up
with bland Top 40 programming.
Andre records over two hundred one-hour mix sets annually for
this and other syndicated shows. As a member of the prestigious
Balance
Promote Record Pool, with a membership of 40 top US jocks
such as Danny Tenaglia and Sandra Collins, he introduces the
best forthcoming tracks from around the world. He has been featured
in number of publications, TV programs, and websites. |
